UPDATE: Suspicious Activity at Sharon Forks Today

Submitted by Leslie Marinelli

Please check your email for important information from Anna Lyle about an incident that occurred today at Sharon Forks Library.

What happened today is a big news story here in Forsyth County (and beyond) and you are likely to be asked about it at home and at work.

This is an active police investigation and we have been asked by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office to not share any details about the incident at this time. FCSO is specifically referring to the incident as "suspicious activity" and they have asked that we do the same.

Just a reminder that we do have a policy for interacting with the media about FCPL:

J-10. Contact with the Media

All media inquiries regarding the Library and its operations must be referred to the Director or an Assistant Director (or other designated individuals). Only the Director and Assistant Directors (or other designated individuals) are authorized to make or approve public statements pertaining to the Library or its operations. No employees are authorized to make statements on behalf of the Library, unless specifically designated by the Director.

One of my responsibilities as our Communications Manager is to serve as our primary point person for all media contacts. Please refer all media inquiries to me at marinellil@forsythpl.org or 678-513-9392. If I am not available, please refer media inquiries to Anna Lyle or Ann Decherd.
