Following is a summary of last evening’s Library Board meeting, held at the Cumming Library.
- The Board heard
a report about recent and upcoming programming and outreach activities.
- The Board
approved a revision of the Holiday Benefits policy, effective January 1,
2022. Anna’s blog
post from last evening goes into detail about this change.
- The Board gave
approval to advance $100,000 from the General Fund to the Capital Projects fund
for the purpose of initial payment of invoices eligible for reimbursement from
County and State capital funding sources.
$100,000 will be returned to the General Fund after the Denmark Library
project is complete.
- The Board gave
approval for staff to proceed with implementing the pay increases recommended
by the salary study conducted by Evergreen Solutions. These increases may result in the use of a
portion of the FY2022 budgetary fund balance approved on January 20, 2021.
- The Board gave
approval for staff to proceed with procuring a replacement automated materials
handling (AMH) system for the Post Road Library and a replacement courier
vehicle. Staff will bring the purchase
recommendations to the Board for approval prior to awarding contracts.
- The Board gave approval to increase Donations revenue and Operations expenses to reflect the following three grants:
- $2,200 for a Community Webs grant from Internet Archive to be used for a community history archive project.
- $6,400 for a grant received from South Forsyth Rotary to be used for Leap Into Literacy programs.
- $5,000 for a grant received from North Georgia Community Foundation to be used for a summer reading program for Title 1 students.
Detailed information will be provided in the future about each of the grants, as we get closer to implementing each project. Thank you to Holly Barfield, Ann Decherd, Jeff Fisher, Cleo Joyce, and Sarah Reynolds for their work writing and packaging these successful grant applications.
