Hampton Park's Garden Grows!

Submitted by Cynthia Julian-Simmons

Hampton Park Library is excited to announce that this year’s Seed Library is available for patron use. This year we have over 80 types of seeds including vegetable, herb and flower seeds for beneficial companion planting. We offer small envelopes for the seeds they choose to take home, so that everyone has access to the information on original packaging.

HP is also hosting four Master Gardener led Spring Vegetable Gardening programs on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. that start March 10. For better patron accessibility there will also be a one time program, Learn to Plant a Garden program on Saturday April 12 at 2 p.m. Be ready to paint your thumb green after these informational sessions.

After many years of faithful service, our Pollinator Garden's raised beds were a bit worn down, so this year we were able to give the soil a refresh with many bags of fresh soil and compost. Special thanks to Scot Wells from Facilities for transporting and delivering this heavy load!
