There are some recent updates to the LOTE4Kids database to be aware of:
- Patrons returning to the database will find their most recent story and language featured at the top of the home screen. This will be followed by up to four personalized story recommendations.
- The database has added traditional Mandarin to go along with simplified Mandarin. These are both listed as 'Chinese' followed by 'simplified' or 'traditional' in parenthesis. European Portuguese is also a new offering to go along with Brazilian Portuguese.
- Rewards-Driven Learning: Patrons using the LOTE4Kids app will find that as they read books and complete other activities they will earn 'feathers.' The feathers can be traded for accessories to decorate their 'Lekti.' The Lekti is a buddy icon in the app who is a companion to the user on their language learning journey. Find out more here.
