YOU MADE IT! Summer 2026 has come to a close, and we have thoroughly unearthed our stories. Here are the final numbers from the summer!
Beanstack Challenge Signups
We had 8,113 registered participants. Here are those final numbers by age and branch:
Sharon Forks and Post Road Library were neck and neck, but Post Road got the most registrations this year with 2,047 (beating Sharon Forks by six registrations). We hope all of you are enjoying a well-deserved rest now!
Beanstack Challenge Participation
Our participants read 7,611,669 minutes this summer. They earned a total of 35,457 prizes and redeemed 17,365 of those prizes.
Summer Programming
From May 26–August 5, 2026, we hosted 673 in-person programs with 34,400 attendees! With one hundred more programs than last year, this is the busiest summer programming schedule we've ever had. A huge round of applause to all of our staff who worked to make these programs happen, but also to the staff who managed the branch during these extremely busy times. You all are incredible for keeping up with the crowds and putting so many smiles on patrons' faces.
