You may have noticed that some FCPL employees have a photo of themselves next to their name when you open their Gmail message.
Although there isn't currently an official expectation about using this feature, it is a great way to personalize your account and help people put a face to your name.
If you do choose to use this feature, please adhere to the following guidelines when choosing a photo.
- The photo must be of you and may not include anyone else.
- It must be a relatively recent photo (not older than 5 years) for recognizability.
- It must be a photo of your face or face and shoulders only, not your whole body.
- It must not include graphics or logos of any kind.
- The background should be business-appropriate and not distracting.
Keep in mind, this photo may be visible in every email you send. Therefore, your photo in your FCPL Google Workspace profile should be a professional reflection of you as an FCPL employee.
If you choose to use a photo that meets the guidelines above, you can access your Google Workspace Account settings by clicking on the icon to the right of the 9 dot menu in the upper right corner of your Gmail window.
Then, click the camera icon on your profile picture to change it, or click the "Manage your Google Account" button and click on the "Personal info" settings tab to access/edit your photo.

Your photo will show up next to your blog comments too (as long as you choose to comment as yourself and not anonymously).
