Hello from your Collection Development team! We are excited to bring you a monthly check-in of what’s going on in Materials! Every month, we’ll share some of our favorite recent titles, trending genres, author read-a-likes or news and updates. This is just a little way for us to connect and share some things we are excited about!

Alexa:

SERIES TO KNOW:
  • Math Adventurers series by Sital Gorasia Chapman
    • Found in the Easy Nonfiction section
    • Explains math concepts like addition, telling time, and fractions in an accessible and appealing way
  • Wolf Girl series by Anh Do
    • Beginning chapter books with lightly apocalyptic elements for kids who love dogs
    • Excellent read-alike for I Survived, especially for struggling readers
    • “It’s my favorite book I’ve read in third grade!” - Alexa’s daughter

PERFECT PAIRINGS:

    • While Big Jim and the White Boy is a Teen High Graphic Novel, many adult readers will enjoy this fresh take on a classic and the multiple timelines.

    • These interactive TMNF books are a choose your adventure type but in real-life historical eras or events!
    • Great for fans of I Survived series who are looking for something a little older!

  • Shortest History series from The Experiment Publishing
    • Found in the Adult Nonfiction section
    • Titles in the series cover thousands of years of history with short fast-paced narratives and some infographics. Great if you are looking for a quick overview of a topic in an easily digestible format.
  • Proper Romance series from Shadow Mountain Publishing
    • Found in the Adult Fiction section
    • For readers looking for a gentle, “clean” romance that is not explicitly religious.







BOOK OF THE MOMENT:
