Enter the 2025 Bookmark Design Contest!

Here's everything you need to know about the 2025 Bookmark Design Contest!

  • Participants may pick up entry forms at the Ask Us desk starting October 27. They may only submit their entries on the official entry form.
  • Entries will be accepted until November 30. All ages may participate. This includes staff!
  • Each branch is managing their own entries (even though all branches are participating, this is not a system-wide contest).
  • Only one entry will be accepted per person. If staff notice more than one entry from the same person, they may use their judgment to select the best one to be considered for the contest.
  • From December 1–18, branch staff will vote on the entries to select two finalists per age group (preschool, elementary, teen, and adult).
  • On December 19, the two finalists in each age group will be put on display in the branches with a method for patrons to vote on their favorite. These votes will count as engagement programs.
  • Depending on the number of entries received, branches may also display copies of the other entries to the contest on rolling boards or on other Library display spaces. We will determine if branches have the capacity to display all entries at the YSS meeting on Wednesday, December 3.
  • Patron voting will take place throughout the Winter Reading Challenge December 19–January 19.
  • On January 20, the winner for each age group will be announced at the branch and online.
  • The winners will have their bookmarks professionally printed. We will get 125 bookmarks printed for each winner: 25 for them to keep, and 100 to put in the branch.
