UPDATE - Adult Music at Post Road

The Adult Music CD collection at Post Road Library will be moving to the Cumming Library.  There are approximately 500 items of adult music at Post Road that will be part of this move.  

Going forward, Post Road Library will no longer have Adult Music CDs. The Adult Music shelving at Post Road began to look rather threadbare as the collection was intentionally reduced in size.  Unlike the music shelving at the other libraries, the Post Road shelving could not be broken down into smaller segments.  The decision was then made to remove this shelving to allow for other space utilization opportunities and to send the collection to the Cumming Library.

The Adult Music CD collection has been reduced in size over the last few fiscal years.  The circulation of this particular collection has dropped over several fiscal years.  The available selection from vendors of new items to purchase in the Adult Music CD collection has also decreased.  Additionally, fewer patrons have home cd players or cd players in their car, which has been accompanied by the movement of many former cd users to streaming music platforms.  Consequently, the Adult Music CD budget has been reduced over recent fiscal years.

Post Road patrons will continue to be able to request items in the Adult Music collection from the other libraries for pickup at Post Road.  Staff may enouncter Adult Music CD items with a 'PR' branch label affixed to the case.  Please be aware that these items actually belong at the Cumming Library.  We will not be updating these items with new labels.
