I am sure everyone has noticed we have had a recent uptick in positive COVID-19 cases. This new strain of COVID seems to be different than the others because it is not showing up as “positive” in the home testing kits until several days after symptoms have started. Symptoms for this new strain have been identified as sore throat, coughing, and fatigue. The delay in positive test results makes it more difficult for tracking and notifications to staff because sometimes the infected person has already been at home for several days prior to HR posting a positive case blog.
In efforts to keep staff informed, HR will continue to post
blogs when we have identified positive cases. Please continue to stay home when
you are sick (any symptoms that are not currently typical to you). Continue to
contact your Supervisor when you are going to be out and please contact HR if
you think your symptoms are COVID-19 related.
FCPL will continue to let staff decide whether or not to wear masks and we will continue to supply masks for staff and patrons who choose to wear them. So, remember:
- Stay home if you exhibit symptoms that are not typical to you
- Contact your Supervisor if you are going to be out, and contact your Supervisor and HR if your symptoms are COVID-19 related
- Notify HR if you test positive for COVID-19
- Continue to practice social distancing
- Wash your hands often
