I received a phone call last week from an Information Specialist and as a result of that call, I thought it would be a good time to update our public services staff regarding lobby stops. The call had to do with locating an item that a lobby stop patron had placed a hold request for and was in the branch to pick it up. Outreach visits a total of nine senior living facilities each month to deliver bags of handpicked titles. In five of these facilities we also bring along a browsing collection for residents to enjoy. We do however, have a few patrons that place their own holds and will occasionally visit the branch to pick up. Should a senior living patron stop into one of your locations, we want you to be aware of how to locate their account in Polaris. Lobby stop patron accounts are registered just like Mailbox books patrons, except instead of the MBB designation, they are assigned a designation based on their facility LSXX (Lobby Stop _____ _____) Current designations are as follows:
LSCB - Celebration Village
LSCR - Chestnut Ridge
LSHM - Highland Manor
LSJB - James Burgess
LSLP - Lanier Place
LSOH - Oaks at Hampton
LSPX - Phoenix
LSTC - Towne Club Windemere
LSVC - Villas @ Canterfield
