Top Secret Spy Challenge at Denmark Library (11/5)
8 Children, 6 Adults
“Denmark’s young spies are ready for their missions! We started the program with a quick observation game taken straight from the CIA’s website. Next we introduced our stations, including a laser beam obstacle course, three different types of invisible ink, a disguise making station, fingerprint investigation, and a binary code bracelet making station.”- hosted by Brooklyn Cave
Dog Man Party at Hampton Park Library (11/7)
20 Children, 14 Adults
“Dav Pilkey fans of all ages joined us for a celebration of all things Dog Man. I had several stations set up, including a prize raffle, obstacle course, personality quiz, and more. Thanks to the Every Child a Reader partnership, the winner of the raffle went home with four Dav Pilkey books and a poster!”- hosted by Kayla Bolton

Scenes from Junie B Jones the Musical at Sharon Forks Library (11/9)

“The Lambert High Acting Troupe shared scenes and songs from their upcoming performance, Junie B. Jones, Jr.: The Musical. The actors shared what theater means to them, and then walked the kids through a song and dance number. The children loved being able to dance and sing with the actors, and they were beaming when the audience applauded their performance!”- hosted by Stephani Lindsey
Teen Fall Cookie Decorating at Denmark Library (11/13)
38 Children
“Tonight's fall cookie decorating was such a hit with the teens! We had a variety of colorful icing and some fall-themed sprinkles. The TAB teens who hosted the program put together some really good trivia questions to keep the teens engaged while they did their decorating. This was a fun program, and I am very proud of the TAB teens who led it.”- hosted by Leslie Young

“We had several stations for our students, including a sorting hat, wand-making station, and Quidditch game. Much like professor trading cards, kids were given Library Legends at the completion of each activity. We had a great time celebrating the wizarding world!”- hosted by Jaime Adams

“Patrons engaged with basket weavers to learn about the process of creating a basket, the various materials that are used, and where to source them. The weavers were all very knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing their craft with participants. The Georgia Basketry Association is a super interesting group and I hope our patrons enjoyed learning about this craft.”- hosted by Andrea DelValle

“Kids completed a list of crafts and activities, then headed into the library to search for clues that led them to locate the missing turkey. Overall, it was a super fun time, and we received numerous positive comments from smiling faces!”- hosted by Julie Boyd

“We started with some Thanksgiving themed songs, then I asked our participants to share what their favorite thing about Thanksgiving was. Amina read our first book, then I led the group in a game. Kayla read One is a Feast for Mouse by Judy Cox, while we passed out paint sticks with different laminated food pictures for our participants to follow along to the story with. Our families seemed genuinely grateful for the program, and several commented on how much fun they had.”- hosted by LeAnne Craig

“Participants received a small potion bottle that they filled with colorful assortments of mica powders, beads, and charms. I had music playing to set the fantasy themed mood, and a table dedicated to some teen fantasy reads that they could check out after the program. The VolunTEENs were a great help in getting things set up for the program.”- hosted by Rachael Whitfield
Welcome Back, Jingles the Elf at Post Road Library (11/29)
25 Children, 20 Adults
“I introduced patrons to Jingles and showed them some of his antics from last year! Jingles didn't show up when I announced him, so we decided we would need to sing his favorite songs and read his favorite books to try to get him to join us. I passed out some sleigh bells and we all sang “Jingle Bells” together, and he joined us with some presents and hot cocoa stickers for our patrons! He had a note that said he was sorry he was late, but he was making these treats for us, and he would never miss storytime!”- hosted by Kara Tessendorf
