So just in case anyone else is struggling to stay on top of all the latest staff news after time off, or COVID-19, or cheese-induced brain fog, here's the latest installment of Communications Corner: Reminders and Updates Too Important to Shelve:
- ALL current employees will receive a pay increase effective pay period #1 (starting December 26, 2021). Anna gave all the details in her recent blog post about the Salary Study Implementation.
- COVID-19 is really making the rounds at FCPL, which mirrors the current spike in Forsyth County. Please take care of yourselves and be safe (mask up, practice social distancing, wash hands, and don't come to work if you are sick.) Call HR if you are experiencing any symptoms.
- The migration to Google products will be a gradual transition in 2022, with lots of training. (So don't panic.) Holly explained it all and answered all our many, many questions in this blog post.
- We're starting a new set of optional reading goals for staff and patrons in January called FCPL Reads in 2022, aka "Read Something New (To You) in 2022." Jeff outlined the program here, and gave an update about a small change to the first goal here. More details to come about how to sign up.

- Whatcha Reading? Thursday, January 6, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., at the Cumming Meeting Room. Please register.
- Reading Globally Monday, February 28, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Cumming Meeting Room to discuss Toni Morrison’s classic novel, Sula. Again, please register if you plan to attend.
