OverDrive has sent out information that the popular eMagazine The Economist will be removed from Libby eMagazines on February 1.
OverDrive has indicated that the publisher of The Economist decided to restrict access to each issue of the eMagazine to a 24-hour period. Twenty-four hours after checking out the respective issue, the patron would no longer have access. OverDrive has made the decision to not adopt this model and is removing The Economist from the Libby eMagazine package.
The Economist is consistently the first or second most popular eMagazine with FCPL patrons.
