Jennifer Forbes put together the best interactive crime board! Patrons try to solve our mystery and write their guesses on paper and place them in the guess basket.
The premise: FCPL’s Bookmobile has been stolen! The only witness is Shelly the turtle and she’s too afraid to leave her home to tell authorities what she saw.
The Evidence: The perpetrator, the Bookmobile Bandit, has left behind a creepy note and a footprint. After careful dusting, a fingerprint has been discovered on the note! The note reads:
Dear Librarians,
It is unfair that only children get storytime. If you want the bookmobile back, offer adult storytimes with snacks and songs.
-The Bookmobile Bandit
The Suspects: Reed A. Lott, Miss Terry, and Paige Turner, are in the police database, so we know their fingerprints. (All the suspects have a description, motive, and alibi on the sticky notes on their picture).
The Mystery: Can you match the prints and figure out who the Bookmobile Bandit is?
After one day, we already have nine guesses in our basket! For advertising purposes, we also put out the series flyers and bookmarks, along with some true crime books. The bookmarks have been flying, so everyone prepare for a hopefully very successful Scene of the Crime series!
