We can’t wait for Summer Reading Fun to start! The presenters are booked! The programs are set! We will once again be using Beanstack to create our Summer Reading Challenges based on age groups. Participants will earn points based on the reading and activities they log. The biggest change this summer will be our incentive prizes.
Summer Reading Fun 2023 is May 25–July 30.
New Summer Reading Incentive Prizes for K-12!
Incentive prizes this year are buttons! We will not give out coupons or small toys this year, which means there will not be a prize menu for K-12. When K-12 patrons earn 100, 250, and 500 points, they will earn a button (samples above) to put on their FCPL lanyard. Yes, all school-aged children who earn 100 points will receive their 100-point button on an FCPL lanyard.
There will be more information coming about Summer Reading Fun. We are working on an SRF Staff Guide so that everyone will have the information they need to help our patrons get excited about this brand-new incentive program. You will be a huge part of our promotion because all staff will be receiving an FCPL lanyard and all Information and Youth Services staff will receive the buttons to wear.
Many thanks to the FCPL Friends & Advocates for purchasing Summer Reading Fun shirts for staff. These shirts will provide an excellent opportunity for summer promotion and will help keep staff and patrons excited about Summer Reading Fun all summer long. Staff may wear their shirts starting May 1 until Summer Reading Fun concludes on July 30.
