We hope to receive good news about Denmark Library funding next week. March 29th is Sine Die (the last day of the legislative session). We learned this week that the Senate budget includes $2,400,000 for the Denmark Library. But, these funds are not in the House budget. Lawmakers are currently working to reconcile the two budgets to create a final budget before adjourning on March 29th. We will be celebrating if the $2,400,000 is in the final budget, but the funds will not be 100% certain until Governor Kemp signs the FY2024 budget. He has 40 days from March 29th to do this.
If awarded the funding, we expect to begin construction within one to two months. If we do not receive the state funding, we will seek additional funding from Forsyth County Government.
