End of the OverDrive app May 1, 2023

OverDrive has confirmed that the old OverDrive app will cease to function on May 1 2023. Please continue to encourage patrons to migrate to the Libby app as soon as possible to avoid a discontinuation in service.  

Beginning March 21, patrons using the OverDrive app will begin to see a notification message indicating the final date. The message will also encourage them to adopt usage of Libby. Starting on May 1, patrons who attempt to use the OverDrive app will receive a message that the app has been discontinued.

Please continue to encourage patrons to make the switch to Libby if they are still using the OverDrive app. Please remind patrons that Libby is not a separate service from OverDrive and that it is simply an update to the original app.  

83% of FCPL checkouts of OverDrive materials in January 2023 were made using Libby. This was a rate that was 12% higher than the nationwide average for OverDrive clients.
