Read on for important information about this program...
We recently received the student data from FCS to upload into our system.
We just sent out emails today to all the FCS parents/guardians who opted in to this program for the 2024–2025 school year. The email gives an overview of the program, provides information on how to use the student library card accounts, and encourages people to change their default PIN for security reasons.
Uploading new school data into Polaris overwrites existing student library card data, including any PINs that may have been changed since the last data upload. Therefore, you may see an uptick over the next few weeks in reports from students that their PIN is no longer working.
There is a helpful Google Doc with all the pertinent information you need to know about this program, including the default PIN algorithm for all three schools and the Student Library Card number format for each specific school. Please refer to the "Student Library Cards - General Info for FCPL Staff" document in the Public Services All > Student Library Cards folder for all the necessary details.
If you have any questions about the program after reading the Google Doc, please leave us a comment on this blog post or reach out to us via email.
