FCPL Game Night at Post Road Library

What do you get when you put a bunch of FCPL employees in a room together to play games? You get great food, great games, and great laughs! Post Road hosted another staff game night, but this time all FCPL staff were invited to join in the fun. The surprise special guest of the evening was Adrianne Junius who seemed at home playing games with her future staff. 

The meeting room was the main staging ground although Mario Kart was set up in the Hot Spot and there were areas around the main library for quieter games like chess and cards. The food choices were as abundant as the options for games. Staff brought sandwiches, pizza, chips and dip, creamy goat cheese, and even beef stew with warm buttery bread....and we mustn't forget the delicious array of sweet treats. 

The first round of games included:  

• Betrayal at the House on the Hill
• Ticket to Ride
• Really Loud Librarians

Staff wondered at the name of one of the games (Really Loud Librarians) and discovered while playing it that it lives up to its name. More of the games were quieter and offered plenty of time for conversation and fun. Every game table had a great mix of staff from different locations, which was enjoyable. 

As the evening progressed and people started to head home, someone allowed the incoming Director and the outgoing Director to engage in Poetry for Neanderthals, a game where "u must speak good or get hit with stick." The photos show just how popular the stick-wielding role is. 

This was a wonderful event for staff to unwind with coworkers who they see every day, as well as with those they only see at Staff Day. Rumor has it that the next Game Night is already being planned by another branch.
