The dust on voting has settled at Hampton Park, and we had a record breaking turnout! As announced during the last board meeting, we had nearly 20,000 voters between early voting and election day.
While the increased usage can make things feel pretty hectic for staff, it is far and away the best possible advertising we do for Hampton Park. The numbers speak for themselves: an 11% increase in checkouts, a 50% increase in reference transactions, a 192% increase in library card sign ups, and a whopping 338% increase in library visits in October alone!
The amount of times we heard “I didn’t even know you guys were here!” or “Is this library new?” is still surprising. (For the record, we turn 15 years old in March of 2025.)
