Elf: A Holiday Book Walk

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear…or by visiting Sharon Forks Library’s Elf book walk!

This holiday story stroll was based on the popular holiday movie and book, families traveled through the seven levels of the Candy Cane Forest, through the sea of swirly-twirly gumdrops, and the Lincoln Tunnel as they followed Buddy the Elf on his journey to find his family in New York City.

The youth team worked hard on making Buddy’s journey come to life, with Britt and Claire leading the program. It was truly a team effort with YS staff, IS staff, and CSAs getting into the holiday spirit to create a flying sleigh, Santa’s Workshop, a NYC taxi cab, and more from cardboard, paint, and imagination!

Buddy posed the question "What's your favorite color?" Purple won with 58 votes, even though one of them had the word "pink" written on it. 😄 Blue followed close behind with 46, and red had 31. Green, orange, and yellow all tied for last with 14 votes.

You can experience Buddy’s journey from The North Pole to New York City in our video walkthrough.
