Launchpads by Playaway are durable, kid-friendly, handheld learning tablets pre-loaded with age-specific educational games, puzzles, and stories to help children build language, reading, and math skills.
Unlike standard consumer tablets, Launchpads require no internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, or cellular data. They have no ads, no in-app purchases, and no cameras.
FCPL has 233 Launchpads in our collection, and all were funded by grant money. In 2025, our Launchpads were checked out 1,723 times, which is a 739% circulation rate of the collection. This is really amazing since all Launchpads are behind the Ask Us desk and patrons can browse an online or paper list of titles to find one of interest.
Launchpads check out for 30 days, with no renewals. As of January 20, 2026, Launchpads are now HOLDABLE to make it easier for patrons to checkout the titles of interest to their families. This will be announced in the February @ FCPL newsletter.
