Congratulations Amy Szvetecz!

Congratulations to Amy Szvetecz who received her Master of Library and Information Science from Valdosta State University on May 9th, 2020.  Amy started her degree in the fall of 2018, and, in an attempt to finish her degree quicker, doubled up on classes during her final semester.  Not only did her classes double, but she also became the Youth Services Supervisor at Hampton Park and soon afterwards watched COVID-19 grind the world to a halt.

The indomitable Amy powered through, balancing the rapid changes at FCPL with the shifting expectations of her professors.  And because she’s Amy, she found a way to make it work.  Unfortunately her graduation was one of the many events canceled in the wake of COVID-19, but her Youth Services staff and the rest of the staff at Hampton Park were able to give her a small and socially distanced appreciation when we were all able to return to the library.

Again, congratulations to Amy on her outstanding and hard earned achievement!
