Youth Services Training Day--submitted by Cleo Joyce

Youth Services staff from all branches met virtually on the morning of Friday, August 14th for the sixth annual Youth Services Training Day. Things looked a bit different this year, but staff were excited to come together and learn. This year’s training day focused on virtual programming and training on Movavi, a new video editing software staff will be using to create virtual programs. Many thanks to IT who provided basic training for staff earlier in the week so we could focus the morning’s training on the more advanced features. Stephani Lindsey, who has a background in video editing, trained staff on the creative features in Movavi such as merging green screen footage, adjusting audio, adding transitions between clips, and other cool effects like making a video black and white or adding backgrounds and stickers. After Stephani’s training, staff had a chance to ask questions and compare best practices when it comes to shooting and editing virtual programs. Youth Services staff are all very excited about Movavi and using it to make our virtual programs look even more professional and polished.
