eAudiobook Update

As you are aware, our eAudiobooks in RBDigital will be migrated to OverDrive the morning of August 12.  Please remember that patron holds within RBDigital will not transfer to OverDrive/LIBBY.

However, you may remember that any active checkouts within the RBDigital app prior to the start of the migration on August 12 will remain accessible in the RBDigital app for the normal course of the checkout.  A question was raised in response to this. 

If an eAudiobook is checked out in RBDigital prior to August 12, will it be available in OverDrive after the August 12 migration?  Or will it initially appear in OverDrive as 'checked out'? 

According to OverDrive, a title that is on a checkout in RBDigital at the time of the August 12 migration will show as 'available' when it first appears in OverDrive.  This means the patron who checked the title out in RBDigital will be able to finish listening to it within the RBDigital app, while another patron will be able to check it out in OverDrive.

This sort of occurrence will be temporary.  The last titles that may come under this situation would be those checked out in RBDigital early the morning of August 12 before the migration begins.
