The work flow in the Materials Department begins in Collection Development. Collection Development staff select materials and create orders using online vendor platforms. Staff members are responsible for purchasing new items and weeding existing items in the Library's collection. Each staff member has responsibility for specific areas of the collection.
Kim Tomblin is the Collection Development Librarian and selects items in Adult Nonfiction, Adult Reference, Georgia and Local History collections, Adult Books on CD Nonfiction, Adult Graphic Novels, Adult Language Learning, Adult Spanish, Youth Graphic Novels, Adult eBook Nonfiction, and Adult eAudio Nonfiction.
Martha Amerson is a Materials Selector and selects items in Adult Fiction, Adult Books on CD Fiction, Adult Large Print, Adult Mass Market Paperbacks, Adult and Juvenile DVDs, Adult and Juvenile Music, Adult eBook Fiction, and Adult eAudio Fiction.
Janice Anderson is a Materials Selector and selects items in Easy Fiction and Nonfiction, Board Books, Early Readers, Juvenile Fiction and Nonfiction, Teen Fiction and Nonfiction, Youth Books on CD and Easy Read-alongs, Youth Language Learning, Youth eBooks, and Youth eAudio.
Jeff Fisher is the Materials Services Manager and has responsibility over Electronic Databases, Magazine subscriptions in print and electronic format, and the World Languages collection.
