Summer Reading will launch on Thursday, May 25 and end on Sunday, July 30. Early registration will begin on Monday, May 1.
We have an early registration prize! Adults who register for summer reading by May 31 will have the opportunity to win two tickets to the June 22 showing of Matilda at the FoCAL Center.
Here are the highlights of the summer incentive program this year:
- Preschool incentive prizes: storytime scarves, shaky eggs, and branch-specific prize choices at 100 and 250 points. Choice of prize book at 500 points.
- K-12 incentive prizes: FCPL lanyard at 100 points. Buttons at 100, 250, and 500 points.
- K-12 can earn activity badges with a button reward. Badge activity choices.
- The Wow! badge is time specific. Because we want kids to keep reading through July, this badge can only be earned after July 1. It has a prerequisite: the Love It! badge.
- All kids will earn a book of their choice from the prize cart when they reach 500 points.
- Adult will not have incentive prizes this year.
- All ages will earn a ticket into the grand prize drawings at every 500 points, up to 5,000 points.
We will also have a staff summer reading program with grand prizes. There are no incentive prizes for staff this year, however all staff will receive an FCPL lanyard.
Our Summer Reading Grand Prizes this year for all ages are awesome! Lindsey has been busy making the baskets, so we can deliver them to your branches to display.
The Grand Prize baskets look amazing! They have great learning and literacy activities that look super fun!
