Last night the Board met at the Cumming Library for a called meeting. There was only one agenda item:
Award of bid for construction of the Denmark Library:
The Board voted to award the bid for construction of the Denmark Library to Albion. This is contingent on receiving at least $280,000 in additional funding from Forsyth County Government. There is a budget meeting scheduled for tomorrow with the finance committee, which may provide more information. As indicated by the motion, we will not be able to proceed until additional funding is received.
The Board also moved to approve for the Library Director to handle change orders with Albion as they arise within the parameters of the project’s budget.
General Discussion:
The Board briefly discussed the next steps in the Strategic Planning process. They will be meeting with the rest of the committee on June 5, 2023 to discuss a draft document.
