From Journalist to Novelist – Forsyth Writes Together series
When: Tuesday, August 8 at 7:00–8:00 p.m.

What: Successful journalist and award-winning novelist Will Leitch will share his experience as a journalist and fiction writer and offer his perspective on writing and publishing. Mr. Leitch will also discuss his latest novel, The Time Has Come, a suspenseful and timely mainstream fiction novel set in Athens, Georgia.
Adult Special Needs Craft & Story Hour
When: Tuesday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Where: Hampton Park Library
What: Adults with special needs (developmental disabilities) are invited to listen to stories and create simple crafts designed to accommodate a range of abilities. This month the theme is painting! We will be making geometric watercolor paintings! This program is designed specifically for adults. This program is designed specifically for adults. Families and children with special needs are invited to our Sensory Storytime program on the first Sunday of each month.
When: Wednesday, August 9 at 6:30–8:30 p.m.

What: Learn about the Japanese resist dyeing technique dating back to the 8th century. Attendees will apply ancient techniques to create a modern-day textile. Advance registration is not required, but space and supplies are limited. This program is intended for adults only.

Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections is seeking civic-minded citizens from all backgrounds (age 16+) to serve as poll workers in the upcoming elections.
Building Your Social Media Toolkit – Forsyth Writes Together series
When: Sunday, August 13 at 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Where: Cumming Library
What: Social media looks easy when you’re scrolling through Instagram or the TikTok videos play one after another. But when it comes to building your own personal brand, you can find yourself staring at your phone with a big question mark over your head. And what is a personal brand, anyway? J. M. Tompkins will help to demystify the intimidating social media world, help you build your own personal brand, and guide you through drawing a line between your personal and professional image.
