Programming Picks: Week of September 25, 2023

With so many exciting programs going on this week across the system, it was challenging to choose! Here are a few Programming Picks for the week of September 25, 2023:

Cowboys of Great Western & Chisolm Cattle Trails
When: Wednesday, September 27, 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Where:Cumming Library
What: Do you like Cowboys? Learn about their history in this fun and engaging program presented by

Ken Johnston. For families. No registration required.
 
Bookmobile Visit – Brookside Heights
When: Wednesday, September 27, 3:00–4:00 p.m.
Where: 326 Canton Road
What: Drop by and check out books for children, teens, and adults in English and Spanish. Chromebooks are available for 30-day check out. Kids can also join us for a craft or activity!

Aesop's Fantastic Fables - Presented by Lee Bryan - That Puppet Guy
When: Thursday, September 28, 10:00–10:45 a.m. AND 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
Where: Post Road Library
What: This mashup of familiar fables is a rollicking good time with a side helping of home-spun family fun featuring original adaptations of three classic moral tales from Aesop. No registration required, but space is limited. Tickets will be handed out 30 minutes before the start of the program.

Cricket's Mobile Petting Zoo
When: Friday, September 29, 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Where: Hampton Park Library
What: Drop in for petting zoo fun provided by Cricket's Mobile Petting Zoo! Meet over twenty furry and friendly animals, then join us inside for crafts and activities!

Quite a Catch Juggling Show - featuring Ron Anglin
When: Friday, September 29, 11:00–11:45 a.m.
Where: Sharon Forks Library
What: Join us for an amazing and hilarious show presented by professional juggler Ron Anglin which is fun for all ages! Tickets will be distributed fifteen minutes before show time and space is limited.
 
Learn to Juggle with Ron Anglin
When: Friday, September 29, 1:00–1:45 p.m.
Where: Sharon Forks Library
What: This hands-on workshop will be offered to children in grades 4 and up. Tickets will be distributed fifteen minutes before class time.

2023 MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival Starts This Week
When: Saturday, September 30, 2:00–4:30 p.m.
Where: Hampton Park Library
What: Showcase of 10 short films from international artists spanning venues in over 500 locations worldwide. Come watch the films and vote for your favorite!

There will be FIVE more opportunities to participate in this film festival:
  • Sunday, October 1 at 2:00–4:30 p.m. at Cumming Library
  • Tuesday, October 3 at 6:30–9:00 p.m. at Sharon Forks Library
  • Wednesday, October 4 at 6:30–9:00 p.m. at Hampton Park Library
  • Thursday, October 5 at 6:30–9:00 p.m. at Post Road Library
  • Sunday, October 8 at 2:00–4:30 p.m. at Sharon Forks Library
