Jingles All the Way!

Submitted by Erin Palmer

One of the most beloved Post Road traditions is the appearance of Jingles the Elf each holiday season. For those who don’t know, Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition where families adopt an Elf, name him, and kids try to be on their best behavior to make sure they stay on Santa’s nice list. You see, the elves fly to the North Pole every night to report to Santa about the day’s activities. When the elves arrive home each night after their trip to the North Pole, they end up in different places around the house. Elves being elves, they usually get tangled up in all kinds of silly places and our elf, Jingles, is no exception. The most important thing about the elves? Don’t touch them or they lose their magic. Jingles is such a big deal here at Post Road that he gets his own kick-off event at the end of November! Youth Specialist Jane Elizabeth organized a special storytime in celebration of his return, wrapping up with Jingle's 2023 grand entrance. Jingles has been with us for 7 years, and each year we look forward to answering our regular patrons' daily question of “where's Jingles now?"

From getting his tinsel tangled to romping with puppets, Jingles gets into all kinds of mischief while spreading cheer to our patrons. So, who makes the Jingles magic happen? The entire Post Road staff! CSAs, IS’s, YS’s, and Supervisors all take turns staging scenes for Jingles. Jingles offers our entire staff an opportunity to connect with our community and spread joy each December. Check out some of the pictures below to see what Jingles has been up to this year.
