Dive In! Ocean Science - A STEAM Program for Grades K–5
When: Tuesday, August 27 at 4:30–5:30 p.m.
Where: Cumming Library
What: We will explore ocean science concepts through a buoyancy demonstration, an ocean zones game, a Cartesian diver station, and more in this event inspired by the Emily Windsnap series.
Art Workshop for Teens - with Lara MacLean
When: Tuesday, August 27 at 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Where: Hampton Park Library
What: Lara will be leading teens in grades 6-12 through an expressive mandala art project. All supplies will be provided–just bring yourself and your creativity!
Reading Disorders: What Parents Need to Know
When: Wednesday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

What: Learn about reading, spelling, and comprehension issues, learn about community resources, and ask questions with Speech-Language Pathologist Sheryl Denly.
Sweetie Pies & Smart Alecks: Creating Compelling Characters - Forsyth Writes Together
When: Thursday, August 29 at 7:00–8:00 p.m.

What: In this workshop for adults presented by author Kristy Dempsey, we’ll study different character types, explore how to make them relatable to our readers, and how to give them distinctive qualities that drive both the emotional and the action arcs of our stories.
Understanding America: Federalism - Discussions on Democracy
When: Sunday, September 1 at 2:00–3:30 p.m.
Where: Sharon Forks Library
What: Learn and discuss Federalism and Its Impacts on the System with the University of North Georgia. After a 45 minute presentation, there will be a roundtable discussion on the topic for adults and high school students.
