OverDrive is simplifying how hold suspensions work in both Libby and the OverDrive website. As of now, users will no longer be prompted to select an end date for a hold suspension. Instead, they will manually unsuspend a hold when they are ready for it.
Additional suspension changes include:
- If a user misses their hold on the first delivery, the hold will be suspended until they unsuspend it. It no longer automatically unsuspends after 7 days.
- Holds will be canceled if they are suspended for 365 days in a row.
- The terminology “Deliver Later” has been replaced by “Suspend.” Now, any time a user wants to delay a hold, before or after it is delivered, they will suspend it.
