Libby Update: Hold Suspensions

submitted by Kim Tomblin

OverDrive is simplifying how hold suspensions work in both Libby and the OverDrive website. As of now, users will no longer be prompted to select an end date for a hold suspension. Instead, they will manually unsuspend a hold when they are ready for it.

Additional suspension changes include:
  • If a user misses their hold on the first delivery, the hold will be suspended until they unsuspend it. It no longer automatically unsuspends after 7 days.

  • Holds will be canceled if they are suspended for 365 days in a row.

  • The terminology “Deliver Later” has been replaced by “Suspend.” Now, any time a user wants to delay a hold, before or after it is delivered, they will suspend it.
