The winners of the Randolph Caldecott and John Newbery Medals for 2021 were announced today.
The Caldecott Medal goes to the 'most distinguished American picture book for children.' The 2021 winner is We Are Water Protectors, illustrated by Michaela Goade and written by Carole Lindstrom.
The Newbery Medal goes to 'the most outstanding contribution to children's literature.' The winner of the 2021 medal is When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller.
