Programming Picks for September 6-12

See what’s happening at the library (and outside the library!) this week. Don’t forget to check out the full calendar of FCPL events for all ages.

What: Cumming Storytimes
Where: Central Park and United Way
When: Tuesdays and Wednesdays in September
Cumming may be still be tackling their roofing project, but staff haven’t let that stop them from providing programs for our littlest patrons. Cumming Youth Staff will be taking storytimes on the road this September and offering preschool storytime at Central Park on Tuesdays and Books & Babies at the United Way on Wednesdays.
Outreach staff will also be present at these visits with the pop-up library or Bookmobile to allow families check out materials!

What: Fire Safety for Seniors: Remembering When™
Where: Post Road
When: Tuesday, September 07 2021, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Learn from a firefighter! This comprehensive fire and fall prevention program for older adults will help you become more fire safety conscious.

What: Techsploration Tuesday 
Where: Post Road
When: Tuesday, September 07 2021, 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Join us the first Tuesday of each month this Fall for hands-on exploration and experimentation with our extensive collection of kid-friendly educational, technical gadgets such as Spheros, littleBits, Cubelets, and more! Monthly workshops will utilize teamwork, games, live demonstrations, and problem-solving to explore coding, robotics, and game design concepts.

What: Knitting & Crocheting for Charity 
Where: Sharon Forks Library
When: Thursday, September 09 2021, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Join us twice a month to knit or crochet a different project that we will donate to local Forsyth County charities. Bring your own knitting (size 7 or 8) or crochet (size H) needles. Yarn is provided.

What: Ready, Set, Preschool!
Where: Hampton Park
When: Friday, September 10 2021, 11:00am - 12:00pm
Join us for a morning of learning through play! Help your child get school ready with fun activities to promote early learning and development. Each month we will offer a variety of early literacy, STEAM, music and hands-on early learning station activities. These programs focus on school readiness as well as social and cognitive development.
