Programming Picks: Fall Break Fun!

Programming is in full swing at FCPL this week in celebration of Forsyth County Schools’ Fall Break. The below are just a few of the great programs happening so be sure to check out our calendar of events to see everything going on for Fall Break.

What: Giant Games
Where: Sharon Forks
When: Tuesday, September 21 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Life-sized games for the whole family! Drop into the Sharon Forks Library to try a variety of giant sized games! 

What: Space Careers
Where: Cumming
When: Tuesday, September 21, 6:30-7:15 p.m.
Do you love outer space?  Are you interested in exploration and discovery?  Join NASA subject matter expert Laura Forczyk as she shares exciting opportunities available to those pursuing a career in outer space.  Space isn't just for scientists and engineers.  Come and see how you can work in space regardless of your major, interests, or background. For grades 6 and up. 

What: Martial Arts Rocks!
Where: Post Road
When: Wednesday, September 22, Preschool at 1:00 p.m., Elementary at 2:00 p.m.
Join us for an introduction to Tae Kwon Do, including the basic tenets of respect, focus, confidence and gratitude. The class will be taught by instructors from World Champion Tae Kwon Do, just across the street from the Post Road Library. 

What: Garden Party
Where: Hampton Park
When: Friday, September 24, 10:30-12:30
It's Fall Break at the Hampton Park Library, and we'll celebrate with a Garden Party! There will be pool noodle croquet, rock painting, paper flower making, and an upcycled hedgehog planter. We will even have a special gardening demonstration from the people who maintain our lovely garden - the Master Gardeners.  Bring the whole family and your gardening questions for this special event!

And for adults…

What: Vanishing Landmarks of Georgia: Gristmills & Covered Bridges 
Where: Hampton Park
When: Sunday, September 26 2021, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Joseph Kovarik, photographer and author of Vanishing Landmarks of Georgia: Gristmills and Covered Bridges, will take us on a photographic tour of the state illustrating the mills and bridges with a brief historical perspective of the locations. He will discuss the book's origins and objectives and how he located the mills and bridges throughout the state.
