Here's your latest installment of Communications Corner: Reminders and Updates Too Important to Shelve.
Reminders:
Are you up to date on your required KnowBe4 web security training modules? These trainings are incredibly important for keeping our network secure and will help protect you (and FCPL) from email spoofing, ransomware, or hacking due to weak passwords. To see your training progress, login to your KnowBe4 dashboard at https://training.knowbe4.com/ui/login. You'll be prompted for your work email and password. If you have any trouble accessing your KnowBe4 account, submit an OTRS ticket and IT will help you.
And while we're on the topic of IT and training, don't forget about the Google trainings being offered by our IT department. I attended the Google Drive training the other day and one of the tips I learned from Nicholas about the correct way to share documents has changed my life for the better! Sign up for trainings here.
Updates:
We sent out an email blast this morning to all the FCS students who opted in for a school library card during the 2021-2022 school year based on their student ID number. Unfortunately, there was a glitch in LibraryAware and some duplicate emails were accidentally sent. We have found the issue and are working to correct it on our end, but we may be getting some phone calls from confused parents.
Default PINs for FCS student cards are reset once a year when FCS shares their data with us, so we may also be seeing an increase in students needing help with their PINs. I will be sending an email to Public Services staff as soon as possible with more details on both of these issues.
