What: The Case of the Missing Valentine - Scavenger Hunt
Where: Cumming

Do you like solving mysteries?  Do you like scavenger hunts? Then come to the Cumming Library and help solve THE CASE OF THE MISSING VALENTINE. Stop by the Ask Us desk to receive a scavenger hunt, then search through the Children's area for clues to help you crack the case!

What: Open Heart: A Conversation with Dr. Akil Taher
Where: Sharon Forks
When: Tuesday, February 15 2022, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Meet Dr. Akil Taher, the author of the book Open Heart: The Transformational Journey of a Doctor Who, After Bypass Surgery at 61, Ran Marathons and Climbed Mountains. In 2021, at the age of 61 and just a year after undergoing open-heart surgery, Dr. Taher undertook a mountaineering trek to Mount Kailash in Tibet. He will share inspiring stories of recovery like this one and many more, as well as the journey that led him to write the remarkable book Open Heart. 

What: African Folktales - presented by Bright Star Children's Theatre

From the desert lands of the Sahara to the plains of the Serengeti to Mount Kilimanjaro and beyond – join a variety of characters from a wide range of cultures in stories that celebrate the various folktale traditions of the continent of Africa. African music helps to set the stage for these energetic stories. Our stories include Anansi, pourquoi tales, and many facts and figures about this incredible continent.

Get ready for fun with our new Elementary Explorers program! Each month, we will explore a different topic through hands-on activities and crafts. This month we will explore board games and create our own!
