Update on Forsyth Reads Together 2022

We're a little less than two weeks away from FCPL's biggest program of the year: An Evening with Jeff Shaara and yesterday we received an important update from Mr. Shaara's agent at Penguin Random House. 

Mr. Shaara WILL sign used books. 

This is different from information we've received previously from Mr. Shaara's agent. As you know, this event has been rescheduled twice due to the pandemic and Mr. Shaara has expressed some concerns in the past to us about the potential COVID-19 exposure risks inherent in book signing events. 

There have been some supply chain issues preventing us from obtaining enough new copies of Gods and  Generals to supply this event, so it is a big relief that Mr. Shaara is now willing to sign used books. 

Unfortunately, all of our communications about this program have specified his original requirement that he would only sign new books purchased at the event. 

We will be reaching out to all the registered attendees with this new information, but we also need your help to communicate it. When talking to patrons, friends, and family members, please let them know that it's ok to bring used books from home for Jeff Shaara to sign after his presentation. 

This is really good news! Frankly, we were a little worried about some patrons feeling put out by not being able to get their personal copies signed by Mr. Shaara. Many of our patrons who have come to love this annual event are used to bringing their books from home to be signed by our Forsyth Reads Together authors. (Joan Dudzinski, you are hereby relieved of your Used Book Bouncer duties!)
