Staff Day Evaluation Results

We had a 68% response rate to the Staff Day evaluation form this year. Thank you to all who took the time to give us feedback. The Staff Day Committee recently met to go over the results as we create a preliminary plan for next year. 

Here are some highlights from the survey:

• You love being together. There were so many comments about how much staff appreciated time to catch up with each other.

• Staff Day was a hit!  You scored the day as a whole very high.

• You really loved the State of the Library presentation by Anna and Leslie. This was the highest rated part of the day.

• You loved presentations that include lots of pictures of dirt! Seriously, your appetite for information about Denmark Library is insatiable.

• You loved trivia! We will make more time for fun things like trivia throughout the day.

• You loved dessert! Not a surprise, but it had to be said.

• You enjoyed a personalized lunch that was fast and easy to grab and go.

Stand Outs:

• The highest rated breakout sessions were: 

• FCPL Benefits and Open Enrollment by Elise Herbst

• Behind the Scenes with Overdrive by Janice Anderson, Molly Moore,and Kim Tomblin

• Our Edible Book Contest winner: Kaity Bowers

• The creators of the Staff Guide: Brittany Mayo and Leslie Marinelli. You loved the Staff Guide and we are already thinking of ways to make it better.

• Your smiling faces! We have the best Staff Day pictures ever! Special thanks to Sara Baggett-Preston, Kaity Bowers, and Leslie Marinelli for serving as our paparazzi this year! 

Things we will do better next year:

• Check-in: You were all so very patient. We have a much better plan for check-in next year.

• Keynote speaker in the afternoon: Collectively, you were not thrilled to sit for an hour at the end of the day. This will be corrected.

• Movement: The committee will be thinking of breakout sessions that involve movement for next year.

• 25% of the staff participated in the vaccination clinic, so we will do that again next year. However, we will work out a schedule to eliminate the line. 

• Shout Out session: We heard you loud and clear! You don’t like to be put on the spot. We will give you lots of advance notice to thoughtfully (and anonymously, if desired) brag about your colleagues’ achievements.
