Fox in the Box is Back

Sounds like a Dr. Seuss title!

Actually, Fox in the Box is a traveling exhibit featuring the history of the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Three large two-sided panels walk you through the entire history of the Fox, from the planning stages to opening day in 1929 until modern day.

For our own bit of nostalgia, FCPL had the privilege of hosting this exhibit back in 2019 at the Cumming Library. Brooke Richards and I presented a program together to a multi-generational audience. A shout-out to Facilities for making room for it and helping us wrangle it together this time!

A press release went out to invite patrons to come visit and explore the history of the Fox. The exhibit will be at the Post Road Library from Monday, March 25 through Monday, April 29. The center panel featuring the stage of the Fox provides for great photo ops! We are providing mock theatre masks and opera glasses to enhance their photos. 

In conjunction with the exhibit, Post Road Library will be hosting a Behind the Scenes at the Fox Theatre presentation with staff from the Fox Theatre. Picking up on the theatrical theme, a mystery program entitled A Murder at the Theatre is scheduled for several showtimes between April 24 and April 25. Over the final weekend, the exhibit will be set-up in the meeting room for a Farewell to the Fox finale with engagement activities before being sent off to the next library system, Fulton County.
