Flipster is an eMagazine resource that the Library has provided to patrons for almost a decade. Flipster, along with RB Digital eMagazines, was the primary source of electronic magazines for Library patrons. Fiscal year 2024 will see the last flip of a digital page in Flipster, as the resource will not be renewed for fiscal year 2025. Flipster will no longer be available to patrons as of July 1, 2024.
Once the Library began to provide eMagazines within Libby for patrons, there was a significant amount of duplication between the titles selected for Flipster and the titles offered in a package by Libby. The duplicate titles were not renewed within Flipster.
Some titles in Flipster disappeared due to these titles ceasing publication or moving to a website subscription format. This further reduced the number of titles available in Flipster.
The most used title in Flipster will be perhaps the one most missed by patrons, People. While People is not available in Libby eMagazines, US Weekly is available. US Weekly is a title similar to People and is often the first or second most circulated eMagazine within Libby. People is also available at our physical locations for patrons to enjoy.
