Programming Picks: Week of July 1, 2024

Of course we know that all of our programs are amazing, but here are a few unique program opportunities to highlight for the week of July 1, 2024.

Habitat is Home! A Nature Program 

When: Monday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.

Where: Post Road Library

What: Educators from the Elachee Science Center will present a program on Georgia habitats and the plants and animals that live there. The animals visiting may vary depending on the location and time.

This program is for rising grades 1–5. Event passes will be handed out 30 minutes prior to the event.

A Race Around the Library - For grades 9–12

When: Monday, July 1 at 6:30–8:00 p.m.

Where: Post Road Library

What: Calling all competitors! We're having a race around the library and it will be AMAZING! Solve puzzles and challenges from all around the world. The first team to cross the finish line wins! For grades 9–12. Event passes will be handed out 30 before the start of the event. 

World Adventure

When: Tuesday, July 2 at 3:00–4:00 p.m.

Where: Sharon Forks Library

What: Join us for a fun STEM challenge afternoon as we get to know some interesting facts about different parts of the world. This program is for children in rising grades 1–5. No registration is required, but supplies may be limited.

Big Time Groove: Adventures in Rhythm and Rhyme - Presented by Beatin' Path Rhythm

When: Friday, July 5 at 1:30–2:15 p.m.

Where: Hampton Park Library

What: Get in the groove with rhythm-based storytelling and drum-along fun. Dave Holland from Beatin’ Path is a high-energy performer the whole family will enjoy. All ages welcome! Event passes will be handed out beginning 30 minutes prior to the show.

Survive the Night: A Wilderness Escape Room - Call of the Wild Series

When: Saturday, July 6 at 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, and 3:00 p.m.

Where: Cumming Library

What: Solve riddles and clues to learn more about the great outdoors, as well as to ensure your survival in this treacherous adventure! This program is inspired by Jack London's "To Build a Fire" and is intended for adults and high school teens. Registration for one of the four sessions is required.

Understanding America: Elections Forecasting

When: Sunday, July 7 at 2:00–3:30 p.m.

Where: Sharon Forks Library

What: Learn and discuss this month’s topic on American government - Elections Forecasting - with Dr. Eric Wilk, an Assistant Professor at the University of North Georgia. For adults and high school students.
