Denmark Update

Things are happening for the Denmark Library! Over the past few weeks, the HQ Training Lab has transformed into the Denmark Library Think Tank, a collaborative space where innovative ideas for setting up our services and operations are welcome. Plans are posted, vision boards are created, and workspaces are arranged to foster creativity and productivity.

Thanks to the fantastic work of Support Services, we officially have a supervisory team in place:

• Elise Rodriguez, our new Information Services Supervisor, joined us on August 19. She will be an integral part of the Denmark Library Think Tank, working closely with Sarah to learn the ropes of FCPL, gain hands-on experience by shadowing branch staff, and contribute her ideas to our programs.
• Amy Szvetecz, Youth Services Supervisor, joined the team from Post Road Library on September 1. She is helping with youth program planning, selecting all the fun kid stuff, and organizing, organizing, organizing. (She is very organized!)
• Lorraine Lane, Circulation Supervisor, will join the team on September 15. Her focus will be on the collection—where everything will go, how it will get there, how easy it is to find… and then there is the AMH!

As part of the recruiting process, Support Services reached out to current Public Services staff to see who would like to transfer to Denmark. Congratulations to these new Denmark team members!

• Jane Elizabeth Sewell – Youth Specialist (25 hr.)
• Jessica Dillard – Information Specialist MLIS (40 hr.)
• Olivia Kolosna – Information Specialist (40 hr.)
• Ginger Arnold – Collection Support Aide

Support Services is currently recruiting for the following positions at Denmark Library, which we hope to have in place by the middle of October:

• 2 Youth Specialists – 40 hr.
• 3 Youth Specialists – 25 hr.
• 3 Information Specialists – 25 hr.
• 8 CSAs – 15 hr.
• 6-8 Shelving Volunteers

In the meantime, the supervisory staff is hard at work on behind-the-scenes tasks to ensure we're ready to hit the ground running. We're planning exciting youth and adult programs, selecting and ordering everything from die-cut machines to office mailboxes to desk organizers, and finalizing policies and procedures for new spaces and workflows. We are also tentatively planning the Grand Opening Celebration for Saturday, December 7.
