How to Spot a Kit Book

Submitted by Jeff Fisher

How does one spot a Kit Book?  As you are aware, several of our Library offered Kits (Caregiver Kits, Helping Kits, Storytime Kits) contain books, DVDs, music cds, and other manipulatives.  Sometimes these books will be returned or found outside of their kit.

Some clues to spot a wayward Kit Book:

  • Books from kits do not have spine labels or RFID tags
  • Books from kits all have an address label where one would normally find a barcode followed by either a branch code sticker or an Avery label (with barcode printed on it)

If a book or item is found that looks a bit different, please check to see if it belongs to a kit.

A listing of all books and pieces for the Kits is available on Drive:

Materials - Collections - Storytime Kits - Storytime kit parts inventory 2022

Materials - Collections - Helping Kits - Helping Kits Titles

Materials - Collections - Caregiver Kits - Caregiver Kit Parts 2022

There will be an inventory of the Savvy Senior Kits available as well when these kits are made available in the autumn.
