GALILEO has announced that beginning July 1, they will be offering access to the Science Reference Center database. Science Reference Center contains over 1,000 science experiments for students to review and replicate, and over 2,000 science videos from a variety of educational content publishers. Science Reference Center also contains a large database of science related photographs from various agencies and publishers.
Given that the Library will offer access to Science Reference Center through GALILEO, we felt it best to discontinue our purchased subscription of the Science Online database through Infobase. Science Reference Center offers very similar content in scope to Science Online.
The Library will continue to provide access to Today's Science through Infobase for fiscal year 2023. Today's Science provides news articles and information related to current advances and developments in the various sciences. Patrons are able to review video news briefs, play online science crossword puzzles, and review past years through 'the year in science' articles. There are also guides to help students with science fair projects, citing sources, and writing research papers.
