Denmark Library Update 🚧

Submitted by Joanie Goforth

Grab your hard hat and get ready for a tour of the exciting developments that are happening onsite at the Denmark Library! Things certainly have come a long way since November.

Early in the morning on December 19, 2023, the bleary-eyed Anna and Ann arrived at a very chilly job site to witness and snap photos of a momentous occasion: the first concrete being poured and smoothed. Pouring concrete in the wee hours ensured that there would be ample time for the concrete to dry out and harden in the shorter winter sunlight hours.

The parking lot was also completed in December to make way for all heavy equipment and vehicles transporting the building supplies into the construction site.

Within a few short weeks, construction of the building had begun with the installation of vertical steel supports and I-beams. January's efforts have been focused on erecting steel.

By January 18th, the date of the photo below, the building was really taking shape, and crews were preparing it for the roof decking installation. Changes will be happening quickly, so we will post updates to the Staff Blog as we reach milestones along the way.

In the meantime, don't miss out on all the exciting progress being made! Check out the updates posted monthly to the Denmark Library website.
