OverDrive has announced that devices using Android operating systems (OS) 7.1.0 and earlier will no longer be supported for Libby after April 15, 2024. Libby patrons using these devices account for 1.5% of all users.
Beginning the week of March 25, Libby patrons will begin to see a message to update their OS or begin using another supported device for access prior to April 15. The message within Libby will include steps on how to copy library cards, loans, and holds to another device.
After April 15, patrons attempting to use Libby with an older OS will receive a message indicating that they are now required to update their OS or use another device.
