MLIS Certificate Renewal

Current Georgia Library Certifications will expire on June 30, 2024. Certified staff can renew their licenses online with a FCPL credit card. FCPL will pay the cost of certification for staff members with MLS/MLIS degrees. (FCPL does not pay the cost of late fees or penalties for lapses in certification). Please contact Finance: Gabi Santangelo santangelog@forsythpl.org or Tonya Wallace wallacet@forsythpl.org to request a credit card in advance of your renewal.

The online portal will be available starting on April 1, 2024. GPLS provided the following tips to help access:

1.    Unique PIN Number: All licensees should have received a unique PIN number for their account, which is required for account verification. Please ensure that you check your email, including your spam folder, as the PIN numbers were sent to the email address they have on file.

2.   Verification Process: It is essential to click on the ‘VERIFY NOW’ link on the GOALS homepage for both current licensees and applicants. Registering for a new account will only lead to duplicate registrations and further complications.

3.  Correct Portal Link: Please note that the correct link to access the portal is: GOALS Portal. Some users may have the old MyLicense portal saved in their bookmarks, leading to confusion.

4.  Updated Contact Information: If your contact information has changed and you did not update it, there is a possibility that the PIN number was sent to an old email address. In such cases, please contact the call center for assistance in retrieving your PIN.

Please remember to complete a credit card approval form and return the form with a copy of the receipt and the credit card to Gabi Santangelo-Finance/HQ. In addition, please send a copy of the certificate to HR.
